MacDonald Pass Communications Facility

The MacDonald Pass facility was the first site purchased by Mac Pass Radio. It is located about 12 miles west of Helena, Montana in the Helena National Forest at North 46-35-40.7 West 112-17-51.9 (NAD 27 Datum). The building sits at an elevation of 7,155 feet above sea level and has a dual platform 92 foot tower. The building is a large 2,885 square feet and is constructed of double cinder block and solid concrete roof and support beams. Power is supplied by Northwestern Energy and the building has 120 VAC single phase, 208 VAC single phase, and 208 VAC three phase power available. A 240 VAC transformer is also available to the building. Additionally, a 50 pair telephone cable is terminated in the building and phone service is available from Qwest. The road to the site is closed to normal vehicles from December 1st thru May 15th, however site users can obtain permits to travel the road via snow mobile or snowcat during this time.
