Capilla Peak Repeater and Site

The site is on the air in Albuquerque. We intend to have the site this fall as soon as politicians allow us to play outside. Some photos have not been added to the website, propagation map is accurate and ready now. All other info is correct.

The Capilla Peak UHF repeater is located at an elevation of 9,002 feet west of Interstate 25 near the Manazano Mountains. Coverage is excellent in many locations like: Socorro, Belen, Los Lunas, Edgewood, Estancia, Mountainair, Moriarty. Additionally in great coverage to south and western Albuquerque like Rio Rancho and west along I40 to Grants. The antenna is a DB Products Omni Directional Antenna with 6db gain at the top of the 100 foot tower. The repeater is a Hytera RD985 Digital (DMR) dual mix radio that is also available with Analog. The site is difficult to get to in the winter, with 4 feet of snow on the ground very common, so reliability is the goal. More information about our Digital repeaters can be found on DMR Montana.
