La Mosca Peak Repeater and Site
The La Mosca Peak UHF repeater
is located at an elevation of 11,200 feet just north of Interstate 40 near
Grants, New Mexico. Coverage is excellent in almost all directions from
Arizona to East of Albuquerque, with mobile coverage in Albuquerque, Santa
Fe, Socorro, Las Lunas, Gallup, and much more in New Mexico. The antenna
is a Celwave PD-1151, omni-directional pattern, with 8db gain at the top
of the 180 foot tower. The repeater is a Motorola MTR3000 Digital Mobile
Radio(DMR). The site is difficult to get to in the winter, with 8 feet of
snow on the ground very common, so reliability is the goal. More information
about our Digital repeaters can be found on DMR Montana.
