Sandia Crest Repeaters and Site

The Sandia Crest UHF repeaters are located at an elevation of 10,600 feet and is just East of Albuquerque. Coverage is excellent in almost all directions from Grants to East of Santa Rosa along I40, from Santa Fe to Soccoro on I25. The towns of Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Socorro, Las Lunas, Grants, Belen, and much more in Central New Mexico. To provide quiet UHF repeaters noise, we now operate 2 UHF repeaters. The 70 CM antennas are 10 Db gain Log Periodic Directional Antennas at the top of two, 60 foot tower. The West 70 CM repeater is a Motorola MTR3000 Digital Mobile Radio(DMR). The East 70 CM repeater is a Motorola SLR5700 Digital Mobile Radio. The 900 Mhz antenna is an 6Db Gain Omni Directional Antenna at the top of the 50 foot tower. The 33 CM Repeater is a Motorola XPR8380. These Repeaters operate in DMR only. All 3 DMR repeaters are linked to the BrandMeister Worldwide Network. The site is difficult to get to in the winter, with 5 feet of snow on the ground is very common, so reliability is the goal. More information about our Digital repeaters can be found on DMR Montana.
